The Portuguese Baker

Bread is just as important as wine and cheese are to the Portuguese culture. All three are consumed regularly, but bread is an integral part of every meal. Being a baker in Portugal is viewed as an honored profession. A profession performed with pride, and great care as the Portuguese have a distinct passion for bread.

When Carlos Vieira arrived in the United States in the 1960’s, he brought such tradition with him. He initiated a business in Newark, NJ in which he is extremely proud of.
